Q: I don't like my smile. Can you fix it?
A: Yes, we can make you happier with your smile.
---- If you are only unhappy with the color of your teeth, we provide bleaching, in office or at home.
---- If you are unhappy with the shape or spacing of your teeth, we use porcelain veneers to improve the shape, position and color of your teeth.

Q: What if I'm missing teeth?
A: Implants are becoming the standard of care for missing teeth. An implant is like having your own tooth back. Implants can also be used to replace multiple missing teeth and to secure dentures. In addition, our office places traditional fixed bridges and removable partials and dentures.

Q: My gums are bleeding. Is this something I should worry about?
A: Absolutely!
Bleeding gums are a sign of gingivitis or periodontal disease. More adults lose teeth from periodontal problems than from decay. Periodontal disease is a progressive condition that begins with gingivitis, which is swelling and bleeding of the gums. As it progresses, bone loss occurs around the teeth, which could eventually cause them to become loose and eventually fall out. Like many progressive diseases, early detection and treatment is crucial. The longer you wait, the more difficult it becomes to treat.

At our office, an adult cleaning appointment is scheduled for a full hour and includes a thorough periodontal exam and x-rays as needed. If advanced periodontal disease is found, we will discuss your options to stop the bone loss.

Q: Do you use silver fillings?
A: No, we only use white composite fillings because there are several concerns with silver fillings:

  1. Mercury is present in silver amalgams.
  2. Over time, the silver amalgams can damage the remaining tooth, resulting in cracks.
  3. Large silver fillings are more likely to be senitive to hot or cold.
  4. Silver fillings are visibly dark - and white composite fillings match the tooth color.

Q: How do you handle insurance?
A:We are happy to file your insurance claims with any insurance company that allows you to go to the densist of your choice. We are in network for some PPO's. Even if we are out of network, most PPO plans cover exams, cleanings, and x-rays at nearly 100%. Many patients seek our services even if we are out of their network. Our services will not be covered by DMO insurance plans.
